On July 27, 2010 the Partner jurisdictions of the Western Climate Initiative (WCI) released a comprehensive strategy designed to reduce climate-warming greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), stimulate development of clean-energy technologies, create green jobs, increase energy security and independence, and protect public health.
Renewable Energy:
2008 Green-e Audit Report reveals 45% annual growth rate in sale of renewable energy certificates with over 94% annual growth in purchases by commercial customers. In addition, the total number of customers purchasing Green-e certified RECs almost doubled in 2008.
LakeShore believes we will continue to see moderate growth in the carbon markets as a result of recent state cap and trade programs and will continue into the near future as carbon emmissions trading schemes unfold by the state supported coalitions.
